Live and Learn then get... Love?

The weekend adventure on the lake was one to remember. Let me see if I can recite it...

Got to the lake (20 minutes from the house) and realized I forgot the boat key
Dispatched a friend to retrieve the key but he had some issues finding the lake

Tried to blow up the tube with a new, extremely cheap, air pump from China which brok my AC plug in my boat

Got out on the water which was fun for a few hours tubing and swimming

Tube rope went under the boat and got tangled in one of the major boat rods underneath the boat
Spent the next 2 hours trying to fix the entanglement while we were drifting far away from other people/boats
Ended up calling 911 and finally getting a call back from water patrol

Water patrol then broke down which caused a 2.5 hour delay while they got towed back
Water patrol finally reached us and towed us to another ramp 30 minutes from the ramp our cars we located at

After we were dropped near the new boat ramp, patrol then boated one of us back to the original ramp to drive to the new ramp
Once the truck arrived at the new ramp we then attempted to pull the boat out of the water without use of the engine
Once returning home, 6 hours after we first realized we had a problem, I then realized i left one of the snap-in seats in the boat and it flew off during tow back to the house
Then I walked into my house and found my dog had eaten the sofa

Fun/interesting/terrible weekend to remember!

Okay so it's Friday, the day before my friends and I leave for Colorado to go snowboarding for a week. I plan on posting events on the blog as they occur so I thought I would start by filling you in on events that have already happened leading up to today.

1) Bought a new snowboard, bindings and boots (old one were outdated and too small)
2) Bought an iriver Clix MP3 for boarding and car ride up to Colorado
3) Tuned up car
4) Went to Doug and Lynda's to buy new ski jacket (couldn't find old one)
5) Bought more walky talkies from Best Buy

I recently left my former company to move on to bigger and better things. I increased my contract payload and landed a job closer to my home.

To most of my former colleagues: I wish you good luck and you will be missed. It's a sham things worked out how they did but I guess we don't have control on that.

I will make it more of a habit to update my blog now that all the drama has blown over.

Dads Do NOT Get Enough Credit

I have always said parenting has got to be the hardest job you can ever do in this world. Any other job you can figure out one way or another… Parenting you can’t just “figure out.”

I only have two heroes the second being Jesus Christ and the first being my Dad. I don’t think father receive nearly as much credit as they deserve. I am talking about a good father, one that provides guides and cares like my father.

Sometimes I think to myself, where would I be or how would my life be going without my Dad? I know the course of my life has been guided through wisdom and morals my Dad taught to me. I say parenting is hard because a mother is very important to the development of a child as well. They have one of the hardest job but a different one.

My Dad is the kind of person to put everything before him self. To make sure his family is safe and happy before he is. How many people now a days can say that?

The right wing of the Republican Party has a problem with the truth. The American press corps has an addiction to euphemisms.

Bob Woodward called his book "State of Denial." The press around the book raises the question of whether President George W. Bush and his highest officials—Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Condi Rice— are unable to face the truth ("in denial").

Yet the sort of anecdote Woodward tells, and the new information surfacing on Tenet’s briefing of Rice and Hastert’s inaction on Foley— all these do not point to denial or lack of realism. They point to lying and to deliberately spinning and misleading the US public.

I don’t understand why US reporters and editors won’t call a spade a spade.

After finally being educated on "the power to choose" for Texas I realized that I was paying way too much money for electricity for no additional benefit. In fact, I was paying more and didn't have as many benefits as I could have.
