Great Quotes and Pictures from Today

Below are some amazing, self-explanatory, quotes and photos I collected throughout the day...

"NEW YORK - Crude oil futures jumped above $73 a barrel Thursday on intensified supply worries, after police said gunmen in Nigeria kidnapped at least two foreign oil workers from a bus in a second day of attacks targeting such workers."

"In caveman days, being good with a club was one way to get a mate [for a man]. Now, the ability to purchase a blinged-out SUV has similar value, the scientists suggest."

"Enraged Mother Calls Fall Out Boy Concert 'Liberal Homosexual Rally' "

"My wife is still a little salty with me," Chappelle joked on NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" on Wednesday night. "She's not mad at me, but don't think you can walk away from $50 million and your wife is just going to be cool with it."

Home Theater to the Max

Ok so one of my "move-in" toys to myself was a full home theater system. Now I already owned the Yamaha 7.1 speaker/receiver system but needed to spice it up a bit. So I decided to add a HD DLP projector to my home movie-watching experience!

The first step was to wire the entire family room for 7.1 sound (speaker wires). This wasn't too challenging due to the ranch style home I own. My family room also has a built in the wall bookshelf where I decided to use one shelves to house my receiver and DVD player - this way I can have less clutter in the room.

Next was to install the satellite speakers (front and rear) in the corners of the room with ceiling-based speaker mountings.

Once I connected the whole system I couldn't be more impressed! I am not much of a cable-TV watcher but I cant get enough of movies.

Client Quotes Part I

I recently finish a contract with a client for a client which included a tableless XHTML design... Tableless designs are neat because of the benefits such as SEO help, cleaner code, load time. Below is an actual quote from my clients client regarding the project:

After the <body> I want the first thing to be an <h1>tag. It does not have to look like an h1 just use css to make it look like you want it to. After the
H1 tag I want the main text <p>main text</p>. The key is to keep the content near the top. I want it to be read first. When a spider comes to the page I want it to find mostly text. All the code to position things should be in the css file or below the content. I want the source code to look very clean and simple. All the complicated stuff should be in the css file. The search engines love this type of coding. It also makes it easier for me to change later.

*sigh*
